The
Mobile Environmental Education Center started to visit
schools in Fall 2005. The Mobile EEC will contain some
of the same study opportunities which are available at
the Center.
Over nine hundred students from thirty-six classes and 5
grade levels took part in an essay writing contest with information
they learned in the Mobile EEC. Students were given
a presentation on plants, animals, adaptations, and ecosystems
and then asked to write a brief essay on what they learned. All
essays were examined by three judges from the Aquaculture Research
Center and the winners were given a prize package including:
KSU hats, kids meal and five dollar gift certificates from
Fazoli’s. The winning students essays were returned
in a decorative wooden frame.
