2007 Pathways and Access to Careers in Technology
Field Team Research Group 6F: the pacters
Our Group Members
include: morgan carter, tamara bean,
maura gravit,
magdelina habila, and jacob campbell
Our PACT Challenge: Our
challenge at pact was to basically learn
technology
and to have fun at the same time.
The facts we learned
about computer networks: We learned about
alot of things
like how the router works and things like that. Also
why
we need the router. We need the router because
it is in the middle
of all the networks to get something
there faster.
The facts we learned about data transmission: One of
the facts we
learned about data transmission is that
the first computer was our
brains and actually what
a computer is. A computer also has to have
a input,
output, storage, and process.
The facts we learned
about satellite communication: One of the facts
we
learned about satellite communication is that when
you use the
telephone it does go through a router to
get to where it is going faster.
We learned how to build
a laser data transmitter to solve
the
challenge. To successfully transmit data
we had to: When we all
built the data transmitter we
all had to listen carefully so we would
know what to
do but at one point, we had some technical difficulties
and did not successfully transmit data.
Based on these
studies and our transmitter results our
recommendation
to the town of Stemville, KY is:
We decided that
Stemville kentucky should build more satellites. And
that their
circuits might happen to be disconnected.
